Detailed Itinerary

01DAY 1 — NAIROBI TO ABERDARE NATIONAL PARK

Nairobi – Aberdare National Park
Approx. 3 hours' drive

Your safari begins in the morning with collection from your Nairobi hotel.

We leave the city behind and drive north towards the lush central highlands and the Aberdare ranges. Arrive at The Ark, one of Kenya's most distinctive forest lodges, situated inside Aberdare National Park.

The Ark overlooks a natural waterhole and salt lick that attract elephants, buffalo and other wildlife. From the lodge's viewing areas, guests can watch animals coming to drink throughout the afternoon and evening.

The evening is particularly atmospheric as the waterhole becomes illuminated and wildlife continues to gather.

Overnight: The Ark
Meal plan: Full Board

02DAY 2 — ABERDARE TO OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY

After breakfast, depart on game drive towards the exit and drive towards Nanyuki and Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

The scenery changes once again as you descend from the forested Aberdare highlands into the open plains of Laikipia, with views towards Mount Kenya on a clear day.

Arrive at Sweetwaters Serena Camp, located within Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

After lunch, head out for an afternoon game drive.

Ol Pejeta is particularly special because it combines exceptional wildlife with genuine conservation. It is home to the Big Five, one of East Africa's most important black rhino populations and the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary.

You can also visit the Morani Information Centre and see Baraka, the famous blind black rhino, subject to the day's operating arrangements.

Overnight: Sweetwaters Serena Camp
